The world energy scenario depicts a picture of concern. The adverse effects on environment caused by the production and consumption of energy have resulted in severe environmental impacts across the globe. The imbalance of energy supply and consumption is prevalent around the world. According to recent figures, Middle East controls 60% of the world’s oil reserves and China consumes 40% of the world’s total coal. Fossil fuels are assumed to remain the dominant sources of primary energy, accounting for close to 83% of the overall increase between 2004 and 2030.
According to the imbalance, I designed a book about world energy imbalance and two posters supporting this. The booklet is mainly divided into two parts, the first part is about the situation of world energy distribution – consumption, reserves and production mainly of oil, coal and natural gas. The illustrations on the right hand pages are identifying the data on the left hand pages. Readers can know what that chapter is about by looking at those illustrations. Colourful illustrations and charts make boring data stand out in high relief. The second part is world energy patterns in 14 different counties. Those 14 counties are chosen because of their obvious data different among oil, coal and natural gas.
