Bookbinding since 1986
Bristol Bound was established in 1986 by Rachel James on gaining her qualifications in bookbinding from Brunel Technical College, Bristol. Rachel has a Diploma and advanced Diploma and City and Guilds Certificate and Advanced Certificate in bookbinding and book restoration, paper and document conservation with distinctions.
For many years Bristol Bound flourished in rented premises as part of the Clifton Antiques Market in Clifton Village. During this time Rachel also taught bookbinding part-time to Graphic Designers at Bath College of Higher Education and gained great satisfaction in passing on her skills.
We offer a friendly and efficient service to print and bind your thesis into a hand crafted book, hard bound in buckram cloth with your title and details gold embossed to the university’s specification.
We offer leather and cloth re-backing or re-binding. Retaining as much of the original as possible and sympathetically matched repairs using top quality morocco, goat, calf, etc where needed.
We offer a range of commercial books, brochures, folders, presentations, guest/visitors books, diaries and presentation boxes. We’re happy to liaise with Graphic Designers and printers.
We can produce and bind a wide range of bespoke bindings for Visitors books, Family Histories, Wedding Albums, Photograph albums, Blank books and Memoirs. We also offer limited edition binding.
